OUR WORK IN AFRICA

Our Overview

Since the founding of the Lord Echendu Foundation's Africa Regional Office in 2015, the Foundation has developed strong relationships with African governments, academic institutions, prisoners, and pan-African organizations. Through a post-doctoral fellow’s program (LEFORUM) and seeding of regional institutions such as The Social Welfare, the Foundation has been able to assist capacity and institution creation across the continent. Seeding regional entities, such as the Department of Social Welfare. Our regional office is crucial in implementing and assuring the integration of the Foundation's Food, Scholarship, Young Entrepreneur Empowerment, and Health programs, with nearly one-third of our resources going to Africa. Similarly, the regional office undertakes lobbying activities to support progressive policies and invest in Africa's growth and prosperity.

01

Occupational and Environmental Health

The Lord Echendu Foundation has been in the forefront of improving medical outcomes for rural populations since its inception more than a century ago. Its financing paved the way for the first donations to public health centers, prisons, and the global malaria and polio campaign. We've lately supercharged and expedited worldwide movement on Universal Health Coverage.

Health Equity

Despite these advancements, numerous fatalities from avoidable causes continue to occur in resource-poor areas across the world. Health systems in those areas fail to recognize a population's needs or to provide the right solution in a timely manner. The issue stems from the social and institutional imbalances that influence health outcomes, such as access to health care and educational resources, as well as the effective and timely utilization of data.In order to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal on Health, the Foundation is trying to address these serious structural flaws.

03

Our Method

We foresee a scenario in which community health systems all over the world are prepared to make data-driven decisions in order to provide the appropriate health interventions to the right individuals at the right time. Creating a Long-Term Impact on Global ChallengesWe use innovation to better people's lives and the environment, as well as to unlock human potential. We believe that all men and women, regardless of their dignity or strength, have the right to health, food, power, and economic mobility. With greater research and data, as well as engagement with partners and grantees, we hope to further those aims. The Lord Echendu Foundation seeks to promote the well-being of people everywhere by discovering and advancing breakthrough solutions, ideas, and dialogues.

WHAT WE DO

The Lord Echendu Foundation is a philanthropic endeavor of Lord Echendu Ndubuisi, The President of the Echendu Group of Companies.

Our major core value

1. is to rescue abused and abandoned children from the streets and slums in every part of Africa.

2. LEF restores Humility and change of lifestyle from the prisoners and provides the support necessary to build better futures for the vulnerable families. It is estimated that a staggering 600,000 children in Africa are living with little or no shelter. To survive, children scavenge on the streets. Most are not in school and have poor health. Many of these children have been abandoned and are at high risk of abuse, exploitation and child trafficking.

3. The Lord Echendu Foundation empowerment scheme of young entrepreneurs also works on the streets bringing life-changing services and support to the poorest children.

4. LEF runs so many projects on the ground in Africa, 10 of which are Orphanage homes. We work with children and their wider communities to effect positive and sustainable change. It is our goal to break the cycle of poverty through the provision of healthcare, crèches, counselling, life skills, training, drug rehabilitation, access to education and whatever supports are needed.

5. Lord Echendu Foundation believes every child has the right to receive an education. It is key to building an independent successful life and a chance to escape poverty. Education gives children an opportunity to find their strengths and empowers them to pursue careers and to provide for themselves, as well as their future families.

LEF’s goal is to enable and support children and young people in their education. To bring children to education and to increase student retention.

LEF understands that education is critical for the development of society as a whole. By giving more children access to education, the benefits will inevitably filter through into the wider community. It means that more children live free from exploitation.
